Monday

cette chloé fille.

thanks to a fragrance sample, in the new, might i add fabulous issue of US ELLE, ive finally had the chance to smell chloé's lust-worthy new fragrance. which i have wanted a bottle of for forever. well, at least since its first announcement last fall.

i am a huge chloé fan, it being my most favourite designer & all. though it has taking me a while to get used to & like paulo melim andersson as the new head designer for chloé, because i just adored phoebe philo too too much. it was a lot for paulo to live up to, after all phoebe even worked for stella mccartney (another favourite designer of mine) before finally heading off to chloé, but i think he's getting there. after all, it's been thirteen years since the house of chloé had a new namesake fragrance (unless, of course, you include that limited edition one back in 05) & it is all thanks to him - & a few others i'm sure;

the gorgeous bottle, the ads featuring three of my favourite it girls - chloë sévigny, clémence poésy & anja rubik, & not to mention the essence of the fragrance itself - "taking the classic beautiful rose & translating it with modernity into a vibrant, powdery floral eau du parfume".
so i guess you really arent that bad after all, paulo.

moments of perfection.

as the release of seventh tree draws closer more & more little things keep popping up.
like this sneak peak at the insides of goldfrapp's lush new album;

from popjustice.com

that owl lady is quintessential alison goldfrapp. i'm a bit obsessed with her artwork.
- ah, what a lovely new post idea -
i must find a way to get a full size print of it, so i can hang her up on my already art filled walls.

Tuesday

c'est le elle soirée.

Once the awards were presented the Moet flowed (as did the chocolate fountain!) and we got the inside scoop on what everyone has been up to this week:

Peaches Geldof revealed exclusively to us that she has designed a range for PPQ - who's show she attended on Monday and modelled in last season. "It will be available in August I think", she told us. Lilly Allen (resplendent in Prada) told us she will be at the Luella and Giles shows this week, while Henry Holland, who presented his muse Agyness with her award, and Young Designer of the Year recipient Richard Nichol, both hot footed it back to their studios to prepare for their London Fashion Week shows today.

Other winners last night included, Luella Bartley who was named International Designer of the Year, Kylie's stylist William Baker who was awarded the first ever H&M Style Visionary Award, Jonathan Saunders who scooped British Designer of the Year and Anya Hindmarch who was awarded Elle's Outstanding Achievement Award.

The party continued into the small hours with queues around the block, as anyone who's anyone in fashion descended on Notting Hill's Westway - Agyness hung out with Alexa and Kylie and Stella McCartney caught up back stage. The goodie bags were in demand (full of Bliss products, Kettle 1 vodka and H&M accessories) - as were the chauffeur driven Audis home - what happened after midnight is strictly under wraps! But lets just say a good time was had by all...

Thursday

my funny valentine.

seeing as it is valentine's day, i thought this would be the perfect time to showcase my love for a certain french fille - ah, oui, who else could it possibly be other than the fabulous valentine fillol-cordier?

& some of her beauty secrets;

My daily beauty routine is Aderma Oat Milk foaming gel, and Kiehl's Amino Acid Shampoo. The recipe for a beautiful skin is applying tons of moisturizer (even if you have spots) and drinking two bottles of Volvic mineral water a day.

In my makeup bag you'll find Pout Berry Babe rouge, and Eye Desire You eye pencil, a MAC eyebrow brush, and T LeClerc royal red nail vanish.

My newest beauty discovery is Chantecaille Bio Lift Concealer it is amazing.

I shop for products at any good French pharmacy, also at Space NK and Selfridges.

My daily moisturizer is La Prairie Cellular Hydrating Serum, and La Roche-Posay Hydraphase. However, I change all the time; there are always new ones I want to try.

I have my hair done by David Mallett in Paris.

I never fly without Crealine H2O micellar solution, Clinique Anti-blemish Solutions, and a small glass of wine.

My favourite spa is an Oriental urban retreat in Paris called Les Bains du Marai.

My favourite treatment is an essential oils massage.

My view on plastic surgery is that I don't understand why anyone would want big breasts. However, I am still making up my mind about other options.

I keep fit by walking, dancing, and a lot of love.

My favourite fragrance is Chanel No 5 and Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur.

My best beauty tip is to stop crying.

for valentines, i was hoping to get this (mmmm), but no, perhaps maybe next year...

Friday

live lounge.

it is now 9am in the morning & i still havent gone to bed.
i had to wait up to hear goldfrapp's performances on bbc radio 1 live lounge which started at 5am & ended at 7.45 with a live performance of A&E and their beautiful cover of the klaxons 'not over yet'. thankfully i had a mate to listen in & share all the excitement with.

it is amazing how talented alison & will are. they can take one piece of music & totally just rearrange it completely, yet still have it sound like that was the way it was originally meant to be. the last time they were featured on the show, they did a cover of the ordinary boys 'boys will be boys', which is very rock-ish sounding yet goldfrapp made it into a vintage cabaret like tune that seems to transport you to a red velvet booth at some gorgeous smokey bar in paris. perfection. and the acoustic heart-wrenching cover of the klaxons today was no exception. ahh, only goldfrapp.

im featuring 'boys will be boys' on my page, just until the next post arrives

photos taken just this morning after the show aired;

i love alison's sliver rabbit ring. she always wars it.

sorry for the lack of creative photo collages but i am very tired & need to get the pot going for a nice cup of tea before i finally crawl into bed.

you can listen again to the show here.

love, A.

Wednesday

elle.

i have some very exciting news, one of my absolute favourite filles, miss roisin murphy, will be the first ever musical accompaniment at the elle style awards this year (!)

The Overpowered singer will perform at the British magazine's 11th annual ceremony this month, which celebrates the best from the worlds of fashion, film, television and music.

The Elle Style Awards 2008 take place on 12 February in London.

Monday

interview.

all the movies i ever find myself really, really wanting to see each have one thing in common: sienna miller.

what can i say, i love sienna. i've loved her ever since i was fifteen and bought my first balenciaga bag & vintage pair of cowboy boots in her honour. and it seems that not only do i have a love for her sense of style but also for her choice of movie roles.

the latest to catch my attention was interview. i've wanted to see it for forever, and finally tonight, i got the chance.

it's the kind of movie that makes having serious problems, going completely mad, smoking (at least) two packs of cigarettes & drinking more than one bottle of wine in a night look somewhat chic. in that heroin chic sortof way. movies tend to do that, dont they?

later to come - NY & perhaps a bit of stockholm fashion week coverage/favourites.
